CONNECTING THE COMMUNITY TO CLASSROOMS.
RE-1 Valley students and teachers are increasingly forced to do more with less.
According to an Education Week study, Colorado is currently budgeting $2,721 less per student than the national average (based on 2013 data). This base amount is even further impacted in RE-1 Valley by initiatives like the "negative factor" - a policy that reduces our district's budget by over $2 million dollars a year. Unfortunately, this isn't a new financing trend for Colorado public schools.
That's why a group of community members gathered in 1993 to establish the RE-1 Valley Foundation. The Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization designed to accentuate - not replace - the services, programs, and materials provided by the school district through public contributions.
