Marcia R. Luce touched many lives with her gifts of love, wisdom, kindness, sense of humor, and personal estate. The Rotary Club of Sterling has set up this scholarship in memory of Marcia Luce as a student, teacher, city council woman, and administrator. Each year, through the RE-1 Valley Foundation, a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a RE-1 graduating student who is college bound.

Criteria
  1. You must be a graduate in good scholastic standing of the RE-1 Valley School District.
  2. You must plan to continue your education at an accredited college or university.
  3. You should be a student who displays a positive attitude and school spirit and demonstrates qualities of good leadership/sportsmanship.
  4. You must be active in school functions.
  5. You must show community, school, committee/club, and team/group involvement.
  6. To apply for this scholarship applicants must write a paragraph on the Rotary’s Motto or be sponsored by a Sterling Rotarian.
  7. You must include a copy of your most recent transcript.
  8. Applications must be complete, signed, and post marked by March 18, 2012. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. Applications must be submitted to the RE-1 Valley Foundation, P.O. Box 246, Sterling, CO 80751.
  9. FAXED or E-mailed applications will not be accepted.
  10. Upon receipt of the Re-1 Valley Foundation Payment Request form the scholarship money will be presented directly to the higher education institution with $500 being disbursed for the fall term upon enrollment verification and remaining $500 with the spring term upon confirmation of continued enrollment.
