ClassImproving public education is vital to the future of our community. In order to help RE-1 Valley School District meet the increasing challenges ahead, a collaborative effort involving the school board, administrators, teachers, parents and the leadership of the local community — businesses, local officials, and other philanthropic individuals and organizations is necessary.

The RE-1 Valley Foundation, Inc. was established in 1993 to provide funding for district programs and activities which are beyond the State of Colorado's budgetary support of the public schools in our district.

The Foundation’s mission is to enhance the educational experience of the students within the RE-1 Valley School District. That mission is achieved through the mini-grant program, impact grants, managing memorial scholarship endowments, identifying needs and developing strategic projects to improve the District, and raising funds to support these projects.

Board Chair's Note

It has been my privilege to serve as the president for the Re-1 Valley Foundation during the 2008-2009 year. This year we encountered some challenges, but I believe the Board has become stronger and more focused because of the challenges we faced. We hired an executive director, Heidi Zajic Eckland, who is doing a wonderful job directing the Board. Heidi has assisted the Board in moving forward with our vision and mission.
